It's the post we've all been waiting for. Click the button to find out how my expedition to Everest actually went...
This week is Crohn's & Colitis Awareness Week in the UK, a fantastic initiative to bring more awareness to what it's like to live with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), a widely misunderstood condition, which 300,000+ people in the UK are suffering with alone.
Ideally, this would have been the perfect week to have climbed Everest in to help raise further awareness, but sadly that isn't possible. What I would like to invite you all to do, however, is download the "In My Shoes" app which has been developed in conjunction with Crohn's & Colitis UK as a free, 24 hour immersive experience where you can understand more about the challenges facing an IBD sufferer on a daily basis, from joint pain and fatigue to having to rush to the toilet unexpectedly.
As I've said previously, I consider myself to currently be on the luckier end of the spectrum with my Colitis, but that can easily change and is partially attributable to the fact that despite having IBD, I do not fully understand my own condition.
Anyway, my challenge to you is to give the App a go for 24 hours. I hope it's enlightening and would love to know how you all get on.
