It's the post we've all been waiting for. Click the button to find out how my expedition to Everest actually went...
It was time to get a taste of altitude with a 3-week expedition to Bolivia with Jagged Globe. The itinerary was fairly packed with 4 mountains to ascend around La Paz, Pico Austria, Pequeno Alpamayo, Huayna Potosi and Illimani, with the latter two being above 6,000m.
This was my first expedition since being diagnosed with colitis and as such, it was a complete unknown how my body would react to the altitude and whether I had sufficiently regained my fitness since my diagnosis in order to take on a multi-objective expedition such as this.
Whilst I had to miss Pequeno Alpamayo having come down with a stomach bug, I was really pleased to still summit on the other 3, although that did entail having to climb Huayna Potosi within 48 hours of being in La Paz (over 2,000m of altitude gain).
All in all, it was a brilliant trip with a great crew and exceptional leadership from Jagged Globe's Matt Brook and left me with the confidence to continue onto higher peaks.

Huayna Potosi from afar - our first 6,000m mountain and one I'd have to climb having missed our second acclimatisation climb on Pequeno Alpamayo

Sometimes you just have to go... a great view for me though!
